Who Is The Millennial Mil Wife?

I am a lover of food, adventure, nature, animals, and life in general. I love cultural fiction novels, binging drama shows, and singing on the worship team at my church. I believe there is so much to be thankful for, and that there is beauty in the most simple things.

My husband and I briefly knew each other growing up, but fell in looooove in Fall of 2016, while I was living in San Diego with my best friend, and he was stationed at Camp Pendleton.

We became “official” at the Marine Corps Ball that year in Las Vegas, and got engaged a couple balls later at the Hard Rock in Lake Tahoe. Here are some Marine Corps Ball pics over the years.

We had a woodland wedding in the Sierra Nevada Foothills on the Kaweah River, in September 2019. We had the most perfect day, and were surrounded by so much love and support.

We honeymooned on the island of Oahu just a few days later, and had the time of our life. I can’t wait to share more about how to make the most out of your Oahu vacation on a later date!

Hubby is currently on recruiting duty, and I am [not currently using my bachelor’s degree…oops] and serving up the best Starbucks coffee on the daily. That Barista Life! We are living in the Silicon Valley with our fur babies. Duke, the goodest boy around; and our newest addition, Toulouse, the rescue kitty.

That’s a little about me and my family, but I’m sure you are thinking, “Okay that’s great, cute family [or ugly family idk], but why are you blogging in the first place?” Great question.

In all honesty, my ideas of what I could write about in a blog didn’t really manifest until about November or so of last year [pretty recent]. I have always really enjoyed writing, and felt really accomplished after finishing a kick-butt essay in college, wrapping up the last minute changes to a wedding speech, and even after sending a really heart-felt, meaningful text message to a friend. As long as I can think back, I remember thinking it was so cool that people were bloggers, and had so much to write about, and how I wish I had enough knowledge and [even more so] enough interest in a topic, to write about it over and over again.

Nearing the end of 2019, me and a friend were reflecting back on a good decade, and talking about how we wanted to find more purpose, and chase some dreams in the 20’s. We talked about how we would love to build a positive influence in the social media sphere, and do things we love. We brainstormed some ideas, and here I am, writing my first ever blog post! And I can honestly say, I have so many ideas that I can’t wait to share!

“Wait, that’s great MMW, but what about your friend?”

I’m happy to say, that she started her process a few weeks ago, and already has multiple videos on her YouTube channel! Make sure to subscribe to her for fab makeup tutorials, product recommendations, and an all around good time! Click Here For Her Channel S/O to my girl CynCecilia. Love you girl!

Okay girlllll, I laughed and teared up while reading your post/going through your wedding photos. Loved it!! Read most of it in your voice, too haha. It’s so so crazy to me that I feel like I know you even though we’ve only ever crossed paths on the interwebs. A lot of that is definitely because of how open and expressive you are, it’s truly a gift. It cracks me up that despite being brand new friends, we have already connected on so many modes of communication. All that’s left now is to find you on fb :p I’ll be… Read more »

Emily, that was a great article. I am sure any recruiting wife or girlfriend will find this very helpful. It should be published in the Marine Corps magazine called the Leatherneck. I thing there are others but that’s the only one I remember when uncle Chuck was in the military. This article can help many others in the military. Yes, recruiting is difficult but there are others also very difficult. I really think your article is very encouraging and insightful. ❤️ aunt Isaura
